U14 & U16s: Games canceled for Sunday, February 27, 2011. To be rescheduled at a later date.

BLRC Juniors vs. Capilano - Sunday, February 20, 2011

The Juniors will be completing an All-Capilano weekend following the Men's match-ups Saturday. Both the U14 and U16 teams take to the field for their first regular season game.

U14: Kick-off between 10:15 - 10:30am. Please arrive no later than 9:30am.
U16: Kick-off at 11:45am. Please arrive by 10:45am at the latest.

Please bring your own water bottle, mouthguards, cleats, and full kit ready to play.

All players must have signed and completed a registration form in order to play.

U14/U16 Spring Rugby for February 13, 2011

All scheduled fixtures/activities have been canceled due to the heavy rains this weekend affecting all fields in Vancouver.

Sunday training sessions have also been canceled as the home fields are also affected by the rains.

Practice resumes Tuesday and Thursday of this week.

U16 Game Canceled

Exhibition game vs. Scribes RFC canceled for Sunday, February 6.

We will be holding a training session instead. Practice from 10 am to 12 noon.

BLRC is proud to announce two junior boys programs will be up and running this spring. U13, U14, U15, U16. Games are Sundays with an 11am kickoff. Practices are Tuesdays and Thursdays at 6:00 to 7:00. Check out the poster below.

Fall - Junior Rugby at Burnaby Lake.

Following the success of last years Junior programs BLRC is running teams for U16 + U19 Boys this fall.

Cost for the season- $80.00 - this includes all registration + insurance fees.

Every Tuesday + Thursday on the grass fields at Burnaby Lake Sports Complex East

Times - 6.00pm - 7.30 pm

BLRC Women Selected to the BC U-19 team

Congratulations to Kevenza Murphy and Devon Luca for being selected to the BC Girls U19 team that will be competing in the National Championships in Calgary Aug 11 - 17.

Both Kevenza and Devon played key roles with the Vancouver Wave U19 girls team that rolled over the competition at the Provincial Regional Champioships at the beginning of July.

This years Wave U19 Girls team won gold and went undefeated in 6 games amassing 150 points for while only having 10 points scored against them. The majority of the BC U19 Girls team was selected from the Wave.

As the head coach of the Wave this year, I'm really proud of what the team accomplished, and especially happy to see that both Kev and Devon made the BC squad.

BLRC U-14s Selected to BC Team

Congratulations to Tutusi Vikilani, Paolo Dube, Enzo Bagnato, and Denson Cohee who have all been selected to represent British Columbia at the under 14 level. Best of luck to the boys!

Youth 7s Academy

Any boys or girls between the ages of 12-18 who would like to learn the game of 7's, or hone your skills in the short game are encouraged to come to the fields at 3760 Sperling Ave in Burnaby on Monday at 6:30.

Learn the basics and advanced skills from Coaches who have represented the National 7s teams of Canada & Fiji in international competition.

Mini Rugby Parents Social

Burnaby Lake Rugby Club Youth & Mini Rugby Programs invite you to our Parents Social at the Burnaby Lake Clubhouse this Friday February 19th at 7:00pm.

Please bring an appy or dessert/fruit to share. Enjoy a free glass of wine or beer. Wine supplied by Tim Wispinski of Renaissance Wines and beer supplied by the Burnaby Lake Rugby Committee. There will be door prizes.

This will be a great time to meet other parents, the coaches as well as Burnaby Lake Rugby committee members.
