Burnaby take the Caps

Saturday February 19th 2011 - Burnaby Lake Rugby Club took four teams to the North Shore's Klahanie Park and came away winners in three out of four matches on the day. The Premier Women won with a convincing 31-8 victory. The third division men won with a 11-5 victory. The first division men lost a 25-15 decision and the premier men came away with a solid 39-29 win.

Women's Coaches Name Teams for the Weekend

The BLRC Women's Coaches have named two very competitive Teams to go to battle at different ends of the Lower Mainland this weekend.
Ian Trevor's Division 2 Team goes East to take on John Morgan's Ridge Meadows at Thomas Haney High School grounds and Walter Brandl takes the Premier Division west to battle defending Champions Capilanos

Burnaby Lake Men 2 of 3 on the Weekend

Saturday February 5, 2010 – Burnaby's first and Premier Mens team
faced CW. The firsts came away with their first win of the half 26-10
while the Premier Men fell to CW 27-12. The Thirds traveled to Ridge
Meadows RFC where they won 44-17.

The BLRC bring home the Palmer Cup

Saturday January 29 - Burnaby wins the Palmer Cup, the annual competition which pits Burnaby's aggregate club score against the Lomas aggregate club score. The competition started 11 years ago in honour of 'Bear' Palmer, a fallen BLRC member. This is the first time Burnaby has won the cup. The Palmer Cup win was a club effort with a win in the third division, loss in the second and tie in the elite division.

Burnaby Heads Held High Dispite Losing

Saturday December 4, 2010 - Going into the finals weekend, having had three weeks off, Burnaby were eying two solid wins over West Side opponents. It was not to be their day however as the First team suffered their only loss of the half going down 28-10 to the UBC Old Boy Ravens. Burnaby's Elite team suffered the same fate losing 24-26 to the UBC Thunderbirds.

1st Scorers - Dave Birchmore, Alec Douglas
Elite Scorers - Gareth Marsden, Bruce Roque, Esava and Will Lecock, 2 converts by James Gough

Subject: U17 Tier 2 - Placement Game

Due to the poor weather and field conditions over the past few weeks, the boys never got their opportunity to play out their Semi-final in a playoff format to truly determine who is best in the Lower Mainland.

BLRC U17/U16 Juniors are HOME Sunday, December 5 to Bayside in a 3-4 Placement Game. Kick-off 11:15 AM.

A few of the boys looking to progress through the program are featured.

Firsts and Elite win, Thirds suffer first loss of season.

Saturday November 13th - In the wet and muddy conditions at UBC's
Wolfson Field Burnaby Lake Rugby Club came away with victories in the
First and Elite divisions. The Thrids suffered their first loss of
the season going down 15-21 to a young, fit and well organized UBC
side.

3rds and 1sts win. Elite suffer first loss of the season

On what was a cloudy and soggy day at the lake, Burnaby Lake Rugby
Club hosted Vancouver's Kats and Meralomas in the third, first and
elite divisions.
