Klahanie Rugby Park was the scene for the latest re-engagement between the Caps and Burnaby Lake.
From the opening kick off the Caps were keen to contest for the ball at every opportunity. Fierce counter rucking, and contesting at the intial contact point throughout the first half frequently frustrated Burnaby Lake

Men Collect First Win of Season
The Premier Men hosted UBC on a dreary Saturday and fought their way to a 12 - 6 victory over the students.
Both sides have been battling attrition early this Premier season but it was staunch defense and sound execution of the basics that lead Burnaby to prevail.

*****ATTENTION, ATTENTION****WIN/WIN LOTTERY UPDATE
Congratulations and thank you to everyone who helped out the BLRC in this year's biggest fundraiser!
In previous years, for our participation, BC Rugby has typically sent us cheques of $500 to $700. This year, they had Irish Rugby Sensation, Brian O'Driscoll along with a harem of 23 Egyptian virgins (all shirtless and male; they just don't have a way with the ladies), take a chauffered sretch limosuine over to meet with BLRC Treasurer Jeff Robinson, and Head Coach, Mike James. The cheque this year... was for $7300!
Head Coach Mike James had this to say "O'driscoll has awful hair!" Strong words, strong words...
Special thank you to Justin Williams who sold 21 books of tickets, and to Brendan Davies without whom, the win/win lottery would not have been such a success!
The executive had a goal this year, to raise $5000. An improvement of almost 1000% compared to last year. Mission accomplished! That money will be put to good use: Junior development, clubhouse improvements, ivory backscratchers. The neccesities needed to run a successful rugby club.
Next year we will need to surpass the $7300 we raised this year, and will need your support again.
Until next year,
Mike Devlin MD
VP o BLRC

Mini Rugby Practice - Sunday Nov. 22 - is ON
Practice is ON.
I'm sure you are all aware it's a little wet outside today, but we are going to brave the elements. It seems to be raining less than it did last week, so we should all be fine. Remember to have your players layer up and dress appropriately, maybe even a change of clothes for after.
